Another Progression Painting for the SAA Small treasures show

Somerset Art Assocation   has  an annual fundraiser   that   offer  small  original works of  art  at  an affordable  cost.  I have  two pieces    being offered  at  this fundrasier  which will last  throughout  the  month of November. the closing  reception  will be  December  5th,  snow  date   December  6th.   from  2pm-4pm  at the Somerset Art  Association located  in Bedminster  NJ,  www.somersetart.org

Here is   one of my    paintings  I have  offered.  It is   a  5 ” x 7″ Oil painting of    ”Up  Close and Personal”. I  have   documented  each  stage of this  painting  to  show the progression.  Enjoy!

NEW NEWS FOR FALL 2009

Hello!

With summer  coming to a close, and  fall  quickly approaching  I wanted to touch base  with  some  new  updates  and class information.

First, I would like  to  announce  my  acceptance as an associate member into The Society of Animal Artists. The Society of Animal Artists is an association of animal and wildlife painters and sculptors. Founded in 1960, the Society is devoted to promoting excellence in the portrayal of the creatures sharing our planet, and to the education of the public through its informative art seminars, lectures and teaching demonstrations. Some of the finest animal artists from the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa, Japan, and Australia are represented in the Society’s membership.

More news is that  I am  now  being represented  by “Natures Walk” Wildlife Gallery located in Bernardsville, NJ.  September 11th there will be a reception, and “Art Walk”  in the center of  Bernardsville including  other local galleries  such as  Studio 7, and  Wallflowers. Please feel free to stop  by from 6-9 pm. The following  night, September 12th is  also a big night in  Bernardsville.  Please   feel free to stop by   anytime from 5-10 pm as there will be  music,  and fun festivities, including galleries, shops and  much more.  I will be  painting  at  Nature’s Walk for  part of the  time, so feel free to  stop by and say hello and see the gallery.

REGISTER NOW FOR  SUMMER CLASSES  AT SOMERSET ART ASSOCIATION!

Summer classes  at Somerset Art association  are to start the first week in June. Classes will run  for  four weeks.  Please  check out the   full list of  classes  in oils, drawing,  animal portraiture, color theory and more  on my classes page  , or on my website,  www.agillustration.com  

July and August  oil painting and drawing classes will also  be held throughout the  summer  in the evenings.  Information  is  also   on either  my classes  page or my  website. All styles and levels  are  welcome.

A few new things….

May 3, 2009

So this past week has been very hectic for me. Not only did I have to take down two shows, but I had to hang one, and help hang a group show. today I also helped out Second Chance Animal Rescue at a dog walk as a vendor. Unfortunately it was soo rainy, so there wasnt too high of an attendance. Hopefully next year it wont rain! I also found out i was awarded honorable mention in the online competition untitled” Bigger is better” for one of my fairy pieces, and also sold two of my animals portraits at a reception on Saturday. On to the next week!

Society of Animal Artists

So I am oficialy an associate  memeber  of  the Society fo Animal Artists based in NYC.  I  have always  wanted to  apply  for  this  group.  YOu  have to submit  images/bio and all that  fun stuff and   wait   till  one of the   two  tiems a year they   jury prospective  applicants. Luckily  I was accepted on my first  try, so  that email definitely made  my day!


Awarded Community Favorite Award

I was  also awarded the community favorite award for the  third  year in a row  at the  Bernardsville Library Juried Art Show. Members  of the community  vote on their favorite piece in the  show.  *note -there is a  fourth horse head  underneath the  ribbon!
