I started this painting about a year ago and finally had a bit of time to finish it. This oil painting is 24″ by 36″ and was so much work!! You can see a larger version of this on my website, or in life at the Bernardsville juried show will the end of this month.

This drawing was a huge one! 18″ by 24″ of a litle dog with a big personality named Sumo!

I found some older work that I forgot to put on my site a while ago. The lab pup is a project for the homeland security dog program. Still in the works on that project! The other is a profile of a Spaniel.

Dec. 22, 2008-
Getting closer to the holidays! This client called a week or so prior explaining that her daughter’s horse had unfortunately passed. She wanted to get a portrait of it for her for the holidays. This was a larger piece, 24″ by 30″, in oil. I enjoyed making the foreground a bit more textural and allowing the background to feel a bit more unfocused and set back with soft edges. A lot of the pictures the client had given me were set in a fenced in pastural scene. I chose not to put the fence in, allowing more of a ‘free’ feeling, suitable for this situation. The title of this piece was inspired by the pose of the horse . It gives a subtle feeling of walking away yet turning back to say ”Remember Me Forever.”

This was a fun commission. When I visited the client, the dog was so shy! I have never experienced that before. Initially the client wanted more of a formal looking portrait, however during the photo shoot I was able to catch some really cute reference pics of Titus, american bulldog, in between the more formal shots. I thought it would make a great composition, and the story it tells in his expression was priceless. I title this piece “Sorry I ate your shoe” due to the fact that the day prior his owner mentioned he had eaten a very expensive pair of her shoes!

Hi Andrea,
Lovely site(s). I came across your post in the forum at a singular creation. Great job here, it show the wide variety of talents and experience. It is easy to look at. It is always important to me to see an easy to navigate website and with eye pleasing layouts. I am a graphic designer and hate when you see a very talented artist push possible commissions/work away with a bad website. It just pains me….. but I believe you will not have this problem.
Write me anytime, thanks for letting us view your site.

Hi Andrea!
The painting looks so beautiful! I can’t wait to see it “in person”. I wanted to take a moment to thank you, it has been a pleasure to work with you. I am hoping that if we are able to make motorcylce trip east this year if we get anywhere close to you that we may stop in to say “hello” in person. Thanks again! Happy Holidays from all of us here in Chicago!
Tara
Hi Andrea
I am thinking about taking your drawing class at the Somerset Art Association. I have been painting and drawing for the past nine years. I have a fascination with fairies and noticed that you have painted them as well. BTW, you work is lovely. My style as a water colorist is quite loose and wondering if we would be a good match in terms of your teaching. Also, do you do any fairy art work in your classes
Thanks so much
